Lines Lines Lines Splish Splash Lines Lines….
When you have to wait on a line in order to wait on another line you know you’ve achieved family entertainment overwhelmus. That’s Latin, for the what you have to go through to enjoy Splish Splash on a weekend. A few words of advice. Splish Splash is great. Just not on a weekend. Especially when the day before was a total washout, and the forecast is for full sun and temperatures in the upper 80’s.
Sage advice number two. Bring lots of money. No, not money to schmooze the line gods to slip you in at the head of the queue. But, money to buy things such as parking, admission, lockers, food, drinks, more food. The only bonus was that the tram ride to and fro your car is free, and you don’t have to pay to exit the park (I don’t know how in the world they let that one slip through their fingers). And there are signs posted everywhere that we (the park) is not liable for any items that are left behind while you’re on the rides. And, you know that you can’t bring any items with you ON the rides. Last year we lost a few towels to some towel collectors. This year we didn’t lose anything but our patience.
Oh, and of course, bring, and apply, sun block.
Oh, also make sure you’re up-to-date on all of your innoculations.
And, leave your modesty at the door (I’m sure there’s a fee for that service as well — especially if you want your modesty returned intact as you exit). It’s nice that they have changing rooms. Not so nice that the skimpy curtains they provide on the changing stalls are just large enough to keep a stick figure covered up. But, not much else.
All that said we had a great time, and a wonderful conclusion to Chris’s pre-birthday celebration.
Now that we’re home, our crankiness has finally been set free, and everyone is keeping their distance from one another. Did I mention that it was REALLY crowded at the park?
