Taking it Like a Man

Yep, that’s what I’m going to do.  No sticky needles for me… no anesthesia running through my veins.  No thank you.  What’s in my veins stays in my veins, and I don’t need anything else in there but the nice flow of well oxygenated blood thank you.

I will snort some sweet air.  That’s not gay, is it?  (not that there’s anything wrong with that of course).

And, of course, a dose or two of novacaine, but that’s it.

Anyone have some valium?  hehe  Just kidding.

Tomorrow morning at 10am, I will go under the doctors knife (geez, I’m making this sound oh so serious… I really shouldn’t make fun because I know at the same time there are other patients that will be fighting for their lives, and I’m sure they’re not acting as flippant as I am).

Last time I had a procedure like this, they had to keep reminding me to breath through my nose and not my mouth.  I nearly knocked out all in attendance.  Which wouldn’t have been good, because I know I don’t have the stomach to finish the procedure and sew myself up.

Lesson learned.  Never forget to breathe.  But, through your nose and not your mouth.  But, if you can’t breathe through your nose, do what ever it takes, because not breathing at all is not a viable alternative.

Hopefully I’ll be “forced” to eat things like ice cream, milk shakes, and the like for a few days as my mouth recovers.  The recovery period is about six months.  Do you think I’ll get sick of ice cream?  Highly unlikely.  But, stay tuned just in case.

Remember, brush twice daily — whether you need it or not.  Floss.  Use sun block.  And, don’t take any wooden nickels.  Which is interesting since George Washington had wooden teeth.  And I’ve never seen a wooden nickel.  Have you?  I think it would be a great collector’s item.  So would one of George Washington’s wooden teeth too.  I sure hope HE brushed!
