$3.59.9
I never thought I would ever see the day when I saw a gas station posting this price and I was excited to fill up.
I wonder if it’s too late in life to become Amish. No LIPA bills; No gossip; I’m sure the boys would like it that school only goes through the 8th grade. They might not like no television, computers, or video games. And, they might not like milking the cows at 5:00am. But, tough nuggies. Any opportunity to stick it to LIPA is worth every sacrifice ![]()
We totally immersed ourselves in the Amish world today. We saw horses (did you know that they have the largest eyes of any animal?), mules (they look like horses, but you can tell the difference by looking at their manes. They’re stiff and cut in to a Mohawk), cows (lots and lots of cows), some sheep, some lamb, lots and lots of corn and FAR too much food.
Did I mention though that we filled up our gas tank at UNDER $3.60/gallon?
We’ve had so much fun that we haven’t even been tempted by the numerous Outlet Centers here. The miniature golf courses, and go-kart tracks were very tempting, but we resisted that as well. And, if I hadn’t taken down the reef tank, for sure we would have stopped at That Fish Place — the world’s largest Pet Store which was only a mile and a half from our hotel.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is church day… conversion is very tempting.
