Nobody Told Me There Would Be Days Like This

The afterglow of surgery has worn off and the only balloon to brighten my spirits is located on the right side of my face.  I wasn’t informed that there might be some swelling for up to three days afterwards.  Not that I would have canceled the surgery, but I would have been better able to work my schedule around the recovery period.

As it is I have had to postpone two business appointments so far.  I was supposed to leave at around 7am for an appointment.  Just the fact that I would set an appointment so early in the morning was a clear indication that I wasn’t in a right frame of mind ;)
Interesting Personal Observation:  For one such as myself, who tends to be a slug in the morning, the past two days I’ve exhibited far more initiative and desire.  Though after waking up in time this morning I did go back to sleep.  For a minute there I thought I was losing my touch ;)
I was wondering if the next observation was going to have to wait for another post or not, but the Title of this post is truly inline with this observation:  When are the Yankees going to finally wake up and play some ball before the season is truly lost?  Get rid of Darryl Rasner and bring up Phil Hughes.  He’s pitched well.  He was the linchpin to the teams success this season.  Let him come and save our season.  Johnny Damon is have a renaissance year.  But he needs to run more.  Derek Jeter is hitting in to too many double plays this year.  If Damon is on second that negates the double play, and he could possibly advance to third on a ground ball to the right side setting up the opportunity to plate a run without the benefit of an ensuing hit.  I have no idea why Robinson Cano is back in to his hitting funk.  Something has gotten in to his head this years, and I don’t understand why their hitting coach (who is??) hasn’t gotten him straightened out yet.  Yep, I never would have believed that there would be a day like this when the Yankees, of the $200+ million dollar payroll, and an All-Star at every position, are on the precipice of being eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in a generation.
