Just When it Looked Like They Might Have Launched a Comeback…
They fall flat on their face. Now I have to preface this post with the admission that I did not watch, nor listen to, the game.
But, here’s the deal. The Blue Jays best two pitchers were pitching the first and third game of the series. Today, the middle game I never heard of their starting pitcher.
So, the Yankees apparently got off to a good start (when I saw the final score I was ready to blame Rasner, but apparently it wasn’t totally his fault) building up a six to two lead. Heck even A-Rod had a two-out RBI (by the way, do you know how many RBI’s A-Rod has gotten this season AFTER the 7th inning? I saw it on TV the other night, and it totally blew me away - THREE! That’s it. Three measily RBI’s after the 7th inning. Not for one game, but the whole friggin season).
This one was a bullpen failure. It’s happened a few times… but that was mostly in the early part of the season. For the most part the bullpen has been pretty reliable. Perhaps then it’s unfair to put all the blame on the relief corp. But, when they needed to come up big at a VERY BIG time, they failed in the clutch.
And that’s what the team has done all season… fail in the clutch.
I was ready to concede after the 2nd loss to the Red Sox last week. In fact I did. There were quite a few others from the Boston office that were at the meetings in Seattle, and I went up to quite a few of them to congratulate them (not that Boston will definitely make the playoffs — But, the Yankees definitely won’t).
This wasn’t the proper way to close down Yankee Stadium. Can we expect big things next season? It will be an interesting off season. One thing I can assume, is that their golf games will be better come spring time.

- Time to Post Again Sure ain't got nothing better to do now since there will be no more baseball to be played in New York. - True Grit Not here. Not in New York. Forget the Rangers. They've already gotten off the ice and on to the putting greens. But, let's talk about the New York Mets and New York Yankees, and not necessarily in that order. Either order really. It just doesn't matter. They both STINK! You......
