So many stressors in life.  How do you cope?  (Yes, it’s another shameless attempt to get you to post comments).

There’s the hussle and bustle of every day life.  The demands put upon us by others.  Of course if there were no demand, or no others, we really wouldn’t be living, would we?  So, let’s scratch that one from discussion.

There’s the external demands that we cannot control.  The cost of living, taxes, bills, the list alone could take up an entire blog, much less one entry.  What do we do about those?  Can they be mitigated?  No.  Can they be planned for?  Yes.  But, what if we can’t attain our plan?  Stress.

There’s the demands we put upon our self.  Our goals and aspirations.  Our dreams?  Do you set goals?  If you don’t, how do you know in which direction you’re going?  Or, are you just floundering?  Do you not set goals because you’re afraid of not achieving them?  I do believe that that is a common concern.  But, that truly is one that can be mitigated.  Goals should be broken down in to smaller goals and milestones.  One cannot achieve an entire goal in a minute.  And, that leads to discouragement.  Yes, and stress.  And, the likelihood that we will abandon that goal.  And flounder.  And, of course, stress out.

So smaller SMART goals it is.  Why did I capitalize SMART?  Why do I ask this rhetorical question?  To fill space on this post of course.  Hey, it’s a goal of mine

So what is SMART?  SMART is:

• Sensible
• Measurable
• Achievable
• Realistic, and
• Timebound

There you have it.  Work smarter not harder.  And reduce your stress.
