- Just Keeping the Chains Moving
Posted on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 in Blogs - Views: (84)For those don’t know that expression, it’s a football term. It means just keep moving the ball and getting first downs so you can keep possession and momentum. A first down requires getting 10 yards. It’s measured by a chain that’s exactly 10 yards long. When a team advances the ball at least 10 yards (in four or less plays), it gets awarded a new first down, and chains are moved to reflect the start of their next set of downs and demarcate where they have to advance the ball to get another set of downs.
- Resolving a Moral Dilemma - Part II
Posted on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 in Ethics - Views: (100)I think we need a definition first…. so, let’s go to Wikipedia:An ethical dilemma is a complex situation that will often involve an apparent mental conflict between moral imperatives, in which to obey one would result in transgressing another. This is also called an ethical paradox since in moral philosophy, paradox plays a central role in ethics debates. For instance, an ethical admonition to “love thy neighbour as thy self” is not always just in contrast with, but sometimes in contradiction to an armed neighbour actively trying to kill you: if he or she succeeds, you will not be able to love him or her.

Posted on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 in Bodily Functions - Views: (130)Who knows. What it probably doesn’t need it me telling it what it does need.Though, I do know is that there’s definitely room for improvement. For example, why do we still have potholes? Also, why do we have people that still have not only no manners, but worse, no respect. Never mind no social skills. Heck, the rest of your life lays before you (not behind you).So tonight as we bid adieu to 2009 let’s remember all the good things that are in our lives.
