Networking
Of course, you have to be local to partake, but a new networking group started up a few months ago, and it’s really taken off. I’ve been a member of a few groups, and there just didn’t seem to be the comraderie that this group has already taken on.
It’s the North Shore Business Chamber. They only allow one member from each industry, and there are rules that you can’t miss more than two meetings in a row or you forfeit your spot.
I had the pleasure of working on the Discussion Forum for the group. It hasn’t been rolled out yet, but I’m hoping the Board of Directors will get a chance to review it shortly, and pass along any comments and suggestions.
If you’d like to check it out, click on the banner:
In this day and age, and with the current state of the economy, now more than ever it’s not necessarily what you know, but WHO you know. And what better way to know people is go get to meet them consistently. I, for one, would never refer business to anyone before I personally got to know who I was referring business to. After all the person that you’ve referred business to is a direct reflection on YOU. Whether you believe it or not. Believe it. If your referral has a bad experience with the person that you referred them to, it’s likely they might not be so eager to do business with you going forward.
Though the Forum was created for the North Shore Business Chamber, I’d welcome feedback from anyone that wishes to check it out. Please post your feedback as comments to this post.
And, if you like the Forum that I created for the Chamber, or any of the other Forums that I’ve created (see the “About” or “blogroll”), I’d be happy to create one for you — for a price of course
