2009 Dork of the Year
I know, we’re still in January. But, it’s time to already announce the winner of the 2009 Dork of the Year contest. Hands down, it’s (thankfully) former Illinois State Governor, Rod Blagojevich.
We’re in serious trouble in this country/world if someone comes along in the next 11 months to wrest the title away from Hot Rod.
Not sure what it is, but perhaps it comes with the territory, do (former) Governor’s have a lock on this award? 2008’s Dork of the Year was of course, former New York Governor, Eliot Spitzer.
Is it something in the water of the Governor’s mansions?
Is it the power?
Greed? For sure.
Or, is it something more?
I guess it’s too early to tell if there’s a pattern here or if it’s just random coincidence.
But, it does make one stop and think, doesn’t it?
Now, of course, we do have to keep a careful eye on the 50 state Governor’s that are currently in office. Do any of them have what it takes to become a Dork of the Year?
I sure hope not.
But, I sure do hope that the next 11 months don’t bring us any surprises. Especially after we cast in stone Rod’s plaque.
