Aren’t Library’s Wonderful?

Some of the best things in life truly ARE free.  I had discussed the Staten Island Ferry before.  There’s also the Bronx Zoo on Wednesday’s, and now for today’s topic, the Public Library.

First, they’ll lend you all the books in the world for free.  That’s right, FREE!  You can read what you want.  If they don’t have it, they’ll find it and reserve it for you.  Heck they will even have a copy sent from another library if they themselves don’t have it.  And, the grand total cost is ZERO.

How can illiteracy be high if all this knowledge is there for the taking (borrowing), without regard to race, creed, color, or what you ate for breakfast?

Then they started lending out DVD’s.  FREE!

What a great world this really is, don’t you think?

And today I discovered that you can access the internet wirelessly from the library.  Cost?  ZEE-RO!  Free wireless internet.  What will they think of next?  Free massages?  Free coffee?  Free showers?  Heck if they offered that I might actually have to consider moving in ;)

They do have a cafe here at the library that I’m attending as I post this entry.  Now if only that coffee, bagels, ice cream, pastries, all those goodies were free.  Heck, I’d even return them when I’m done with them.  But, then again, they might not like the form of my return.

This sure isn’t your father’s library.

Go read a book!
