The Last Sunday
This it it folks. The last Sunday that college basketball will be played for the 2008-09 season. Today the last two teams will win their games to advance to the Final Four. I cared up until a few nights ago when Kansas blew a 13 point lead and for all intents and purposes knocked me out of my Bracket Pool. But, I must say that the games are starting to really get interesting.
The days of the early round upsets seem to be a thing of the past. Parity once was, but is no longer a factor in College Baskeball any more it seems.
It’s also the last Sunday before the official start of spring. Yes, playing meaningful baseball games for real is so close that you can practically taste it in the air, the you can smell the sweet scent of fresh cut grass. When the umpire screams at the top of his lungs, “PLAY BALL!”, winter is officially over and everyone’s hopes and dreams for the new year are still a possibility if not a distinct reality.
I love this time of year. And, I hope that you’ll get out there and start to root for someone, somebody, or something. Don’t sit on your keester. Get up and cheer!
