The Ice We Skate…

is getting pretty thin.  Hey now, I got to get moving on.  If I don’t post something in the next two hours or so, I will have broken my mid-July resolution.  Doesn’t everyone make mid-year resolutions?

Why should January 1st get all the fun and accolades?  None of the resolutions made that day are kept.  Yes, I wrote NONE.  How can you make a viable, quantifiable, smart, measurable, realistic, and time bound resolution when you’re totally inebriated?

So, in the heat of the summer, I say THAT’s the time to make resolutions.  Of course, in the midst of summer we’re totally dehydrated — and in some instances being in a state like that is the equivalent of being drunk.

So, when I resolved a week ago to post something EVERY day on my blog, I really shouldn’t be held accountable for that resolutions.

But, then again, how can we not hold ourselves accountable for all of our actions?  If we say something; we should do it.  If we make a commitment, then by golly we should accept it unconditionally.

So why are we skating on this ice?  Well, remember what I said a few paragraphs before.  It IS the midst of summer, and any ice that could possibly still be frozen, must be in a rapid state of flux and liquification… hence, thin ice.  At best.

So, what are we to do?  Well, I will post.  And you, dare I proclaim it… and you really must hold me accountable for any actions that I commit do… MUST read every word I write.

And to know that you have been reading and not vegetating, you MUST post a comment on every thread that I write so that I know that you were keeping tabs on me, and keeping me honest and committed to my resolution.

So, I will be keeping my little eye on the comment boxes to know that you really care.

Can we do it?  YES we can!
