What’s the Use in Worrying?

No use.  No friggin’ use.  Trust me.  There is NO use in worrying.  How the hell is your worrying going to change the outcome of ANY event?

Do we think we gain a measure of control by worrying?  You ain’t got no control.  Worrying is NOT going to change a thing.  All it WILL do is make you sick.  You want to be sick?  I’m sick.  I WAS worrying.  I’m not feeling so sick any more.

Control?  Hah!  That’s another word for futility.  You want to control the world?  You want to control what another human being does?  Good luck with that too.  It might work on a dog.  But, do you want to take the spirit away from your dog?  Thank goodness dogs are totally forgiving.  But, that’s a story for another day.

What are we going to do with all that time we just gained by not worrying?  Where are we going to channel all of that wasted energy?  Can you just stop for a moment and think about how much more time we’ll have?  How much more energy we will have to focus on the things that really matter?  Now, there’s something to worry about ;)

I should clarify that not worrying is not the same as not caring or not loving.  Just the opposite is true I would say.  We can’t control.  We can’t make someone do something that YOU want them to do.  And, by not imposing our will upon another human being we’re actually giving them the greatest gift of all.  We’re teaching THEM to be independent and self-sufficient.  And whether they recognize this “gift” that you bestowed upon them doesn’t matter one iota. It’s not the gift or the giving that matters.  And, we didn’t do it BECAUSE we wanted to be recognized for our “selfless” act.  No.  We do it because it’s the RIGHT thing to do.  A selfless gift is the greatest gift of all.

We don’t give because we expect something in return.  And, if you do fall in to that “trap”, your gift is not only insincere, but you will get what you deserve in return.  And, NOTHING might be the best that you could possibly hope for in return.  For the alternative is far worse.

So, stop the worrying now.  Taking care of yourself will help others in ways that you might not even be able to comprehend at this time.  And that’s ok.  Don’t worry; Be happy; AND, most importantly, take ACTION.  The more you do; the more you will have.  And you will have more of everything.  Now, be happy!

And, don’t get me started on hurrying!
