Indeed more than just a friend in need… friends are what makes our worlds go ’round.  And, we sure got a first hand glimpse of that this weekend.  Only time will tell if the foundation of our home withstood the onslaught
Chris had his best friend Jesse over for not one, but two nights.  I like Jesse.  He’s a great example of how proper parenting can prepare a child for this world, and Chris couldn’t have made a better friend.  On Friday, Tommy had not one, but two friends over the house.  Counting Matthew that made six boys over at our house at the same time.  And they had a most splendid time… They played inside; went outside and rode their scooters, kicked the soccer ball, and drew on the house (ok, that wasn’t nice… and we had that discussion already).  It was great to see them socializing and interacting together and (finally) getting off their PC’s, Wii’s, and DS’s.  There is a life outside their little world, and we’re glad they’re discovering it.

Tracy spent the whole weekend preparing, cleaning, cooking, cleaning, serving, and cleaning some more.  From pancakes from scratch (OMG, weere they GOOOOOOD), bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast to taco’s for lunch, and chicken, country ribs, and a pasta salad (exactly like her father loved) for dinner, the poor Woman needs a break!  Let’s see how long she sits on the sidelines after she eats my cooking tomorrow night
Today along with Jesse we went to the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium.  They had a special program put on the by the Long Island Herpetology Club.  I posted about that on the NCAS Forum, and if you’d like to read about and see some pictures I took click here.

I can only imagine what it will be like at our house when the boys start bringing girls over.  Hopefully (confidentally I should say), they will be well mannered and respectful as they’ve been taught.  Then one day they will get married and move out on their own…. (sorry, started fantasizing there ).

So, what are friends for?  For the good times in life.  To share, to laugh, to learn, to play, to grow together, and be there every day for each other.
