Something from Nothing

Innovation is the mother of invention.  And, this mother of three fabulous boys was prepared to rough it Robinson Crusoe.  As primitive as it could be.  With the power out, you think that would stop our intrepid mother of three?  No chance.

With the temperature as hot today as it could possibly be, and certainly hot enough to fry an egg on the driveway, the intrepid mother of three, Martha Stewart eat your heart out, pulled together the following ingredients:

  • Cilantro grown from her garden
  • Diced onion
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Tomatoes (not the kind that McDonald’s served)
  • Chopped meat

Wrapping the meat and her homemade, from scratch, salsa salad, in to a makeshift aluminum foil cooking vessel and ready with the aid of three magnifying glasses to concentrate the sun’s rays (of course, so that the food would cook evenly), she slid the door open and stepped out in to the broiling late afternoon sun… And wouldn’t  you know it.  Just as she did the power came back on.

As if on cue, your faithful blogger arrived home just as the tacos were being put in their shell and served for the enjoyment of all.  YUMMY.

Thank you Tracy.  That was delicious.  May I have another?

And, when are you finally going to start publishing that magazine you’ve been talking about for a while now, “T”?
